January 11, 2024 - Proverbs 11:23-25
“True lovers of God are filled with longings for what is pleasing and good, but the wicked can only expect doom. Generosity brings prosperity, but withholding from charity brings poverty. Those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor.” Proverbs 11:23-25 TPT
Lord, we want to be people that you refer to as true lovers of you. We don’t want to look like it on the outside by others looking in, but by you, who sees our heart and knows everything about us. Help us grow our love for you. Draw us in and teach us how to truly love you. As this happens, we know it will automatically change the way we live. We will be filled with longings to do what is good and pleasing to you. We will have an automatic hatred for allowing any evil in our lives. When we are consumed with love for you, we don’t have to try so hard to be righteous, it becomes a much more natural response. Grow us to that point.
Lord, not only does our desire to be righteous grow, but our desire to be generous and bless others also grows. It too becomes a natural response to loving you. We want to see more of that in our lives. We don’t want to see giving of our possessions or our lives as a sacrifice, but as a joy. We want to learn to love living our lives to bless others. Lord, we want to pour out our lives to pour out blessings, not to see what we can get from you, but because you have already poured out so much to bless us. But, Lord, we also know that you have so much more you long to bless us with. Help us live in a way that does open the floodgates of your blessings in our lives. We praise you for the way you love us and all of your amazing blessings in our lives.
In Jesus name, amen.
