January 11, 2022 - 1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:6-8‬

“I planted the church, and Apollos came and cared for it, but it was God who caused it to grow. This means the one who plants is not anybody special, nor the one who waters, for God is the one who brings the supernatural growth. Now, the one who plants and the one who waters are equally important and on the same team, but each will be rewarded for his own work.” 1 Corinthians 3:6-8 TPT

Father, it is such a wonderful thing that we all have a part to play in your plans. We love that we get to be included in what you are doing, and we want to take ownership of our part. Open our eyes to clearly see what our part in your master plan is for this season we are in. We want to do our part to the best of our ability to bring honor to you. Give us your strength, wisdom, grace, humility, and joy to accomplish our part. Help us to always see the importance of all the roles. If we are in a more prominent role, help us not to get prideful or think of others as less than us. If we are in a less prominent role, help us serve you in that place gratefully and not resent or envy anyone else’s role.

Lord, we also want to be careful to not take on roles that you are not calling us to. We don’t want to try and make something happen in our own strength or take on someone else’s role. So, make our part clear. We also recognize it is your job to cause growth. No matter how much we water or care for something we cannot make it grow. You are the life giver, not us. We gladly surrender that role to you and will not get frustrated when the timing or the way something is growing doesn’t follow our plan. Lord, help us learn to pray for growth, but leave that in your capable hands. We also ask that you help us release any guilt or frustration that we might feel if we have done our part, but the “plant” we have been caring for withers and dies. We want to do our part and trust the rest to you.

In Jesus name, amen.
