February 5, 2023 - Psalms 143:8-12
“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; In You I take shelter. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. In Your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul; For I am Your servant.” Psalms 143:8-12 NKJV
Lord, we thank you for how you love us. We want to awake every morning eager to spend time in your presence, soaking in your love and showering our love over you. Help us to fall more in love with you. We want you to be continually on our mind. As we spend time in your presence, help us learn to recognize your voice more clearly. As we give more of ourselves to you, guide our every move. Show us every step we should take. We want to follow after you and your will for us. Grow us and transform us to be more like you. Teach us how to walk the path of righteousness that leads us deeper into who you are.
We are so grateful for how you love and protect us. We thank you that you will keep us safe. Even when bad things happen to us, you are with us, and you still love us. It doesn’t mean that you are not protecting us. Even the most loving parent must let go of their child for the child to learn to walk, even if it means they will fall and get some bumps and bruises. It is in getting back up and trying again that they strengthen their muscles and learn to balance. When we have those hard moments, we want to grow stronger and learn to stand more on our own. Help us not to get mad at you, but let it push us closer to you. You are our loving guardian, who can always be trusted. Thank you.
In Jesus name, amen.
