February 28, 2025 - Hebrews‬ ‭2‬:‭1

“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” Hebrews 2:1 ESV

Lord, it is so easy for us to drift and not even realize it. The “currents” of this world are all around us and they are so strong. It can be so easy for our actions and thoughts to be influenced by them without us even realizing it. We are so inundated with how the world thinks that it can seem normal and right to us. But your ways are very different from the world’s ways. If we want to walk in your ways, we must be very intentional about it. When the current around us is as strong as it is, to find ourselves drifting all we must do is nothing. If we quit pursuing you and your ways for a minute, the current will pull us away from you. Help us to learn to constantly keep our eyes on you and live a life of pursuing you.

Holy Spirit, are there any areas of our lives where we are believing or behaving in the ways of our world? Please show us any places in our lives where we are drifting. Help us to realign our whole lives to you and your ways. Help us to always be vigilant and pay attention to you, so we never drift from you. We need your help to stay in you. We want to be set apart from the world and glorify you in all we do.
