February 27, 2025 - 2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬-‭22‬

“In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.” 2 Timothy 2:20-22 NLT

Lord, we want to be pure of heart and used for special occasions. Help us not to settle for being ordinary. We want to be set apart by you for your special and honorable use. Give us the desire and strength to run from anything that makes us unclean. Increase our desire to always choose to pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Stir our hearts to hunger for a deeper relationship with you.

Lord, we want to always be ready for you to use us for your good works. Help us be patient in the waiting. Do your work in us to prepare us for the special things that you want to use us for. The expensive dishes and utensils spend a lot of time waiting for those special uses. Help us to not become impatient when you have us in a season of waiting. We don’t want to sell ourselves short of all that you have for us because we don’t trust you in the waiting. While we are waiting, teach us how to press into you and allow you to purify and polish us so we are ready to do our jobs well when the time is right. Let us bring you glory in all you have called us to do and in every season.
