February 22, 2024 - Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬

“…upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.” Matthew 16:18 NLT

Jesus, we thank you that you are our rock, our sure foundation. Anything built on you will stand. We praise you that nothing can conquer you. You are all powerful and have all authority. What an honor to have someone so powerful invested in us. As long as we choose to stand with you in the battle, we will always be on the winning side.

Lord, we thank you that you are building your church, your bride. What an honor to be your chosen bride. We thank you for working on us. You are building us up and growing us into a pure and spotless bride. Teach us how to be a bride worthy of you. A bride that is not only pure but also stands strong in the identity that you have declared over us.

You said in this verse that all the power of hell cannot conquer your church. That is the level of authority that you have given us. We have your power in us to overcome anything hell would want to send our way. We ask that you teach us how to stand on you, our foundation, and walk fully in your authority. We never want to cower at anything that you have told us to overcome. We never want to have the thought that it is too hard or too big. Grow our faith. Let us learn to walk up to the lame and use our authority to speak healing. Let us walk up to demons and send them running. Give us the faith to stare death down and command it to leave. Help us to get your Word buried deep within us so we know how to use it as the powerful sword that it is. We want to be the effective warriors you have called us to be. We want to send the powers of hell running and never allow them to conquer us. We pray today that you would raise the church up to be the bride you are calling her to be and start with each of us.
