February 20, 2022 - Matthew 6:9-10
“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10 NLT
Father in heaven, we want to lift up your holy name. Let our lives always give you the honor and glory your name deserves. Give us a greater glimpse of your holiness. Let us bow before you in awe and reverence. We thank you that you have invited us to come before you freely. You have adopted us as sons and daughters, which is such an honor. We want to have an intimate relationship with you. But in that intimacy, we never want to forget who you are. You are the Almighty God over all. The heavens worship you day and night for all eternity because you are so worthy. Help us always walk in the fear of the Lord, even in our closeness.
We pray that you would send more of your Kingdom to earth. Open our eyes to your Kingdom ways. Show us how to walk them out. We want to be a part of bringing your Kingdom to earth. Show us how to live a holy life. Show us how to love and honor others. Show us the places in our lives where our values and actions line up more with the ways of the world than with your ways. Forgive us of this and teach us how to align everything about our lives to your Kingdom. Let our lives be a shining example of a better way to live.
Lord, we ask that your will be done in our lives and here on earth. Come and interrupt what you need to interrupt for your ways to be done. Change whatever needs to be changed. Start with our lives. We want to always be doers of your will here on earth. We give you permission to do whatever you need to in us so that you accomplish everything you want to accomplish in us and through us. If our plans don’t line up with yours, please change them. Let your will always be done in us. Come, Lord, come!
