February 2, 2025 - 1 Samuel‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬

“He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s, and he has set the world in order.” 1 Samuel 2:8 NLT

Lord, it is truly amazing how you love and care for the forgotten, the underdog, the lost, the hurting, etc. Those that our society looks down on and tries to overlook are seen by you. We see throughout the Bible how you sought out the overlooked. We praise you that you didn’t overlook us. We are all poor and needy before we are found by you. You are the only thing that gives our lives value. Thank you for lifting us up and setting us in a seat of honor. We certainly don’t deserve to be called your son or daughter, yet you have not only given us the title but the authority that goes with it. You pursue us and love us unconditionally, even when we give you every reason to give up and walk away. All praise to you that you never walk away. You keep pursuing us and picking us back up out of the garbage dump, no matter how many times we go back to it.

Lord, help us hate the sin that wants to draw us back and learn to pursue you like you pursue us. We surrender to your Lordship and give you full control of our lives. Do whatever you need to do in us to set our lives in order. Make us a living example here on earth of you. Let our lives draw others that are lost and needy into your arms of love. Use us for your glory, for you deserve all the glory. All praise be to you.
