February 18, 2023 - Psalms 91:14-16

“For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name, I will greatly protect you. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel my presence in your time of trouble. I will deliver you and bring you honor. I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”” Psalms 91:14-16 TPT

Lord, we want to live our lives in a way that you will speak these type words over us. We want to live in a way that brings you glory and honor. We don’t want to do this as a task to be followed to avoid punishment, but out of love of bringing joy and pleasure to you. We want you to think of us and there to be such pleasure in those thoughts. Not like the child that you fully love, but are disappointed in their choices and actions, but as someone whose choices and actions bring you fulfilment. Help us to fall deeper in love with you so that we find pure delight in following in your ways and are heartbroken when we bring disappointment to you. Lord, we truly want to be loyal to your name, to the point of laying down our reputation, our pride, our dreams, our possessions, even our life for your name’s sake. Help us line up our life to these desires. Draw us closer to you. Teach us how we need to reprioritize our lives to spend more time in your presence and make these prayers a reality.

We know that following you, even in the best possible way, will not mean that we won’t go through times of trouble. But we praise you that even in our times of trouble, you tell us that your presence is always with us. Help us learn to stand on that truth, no matter what we face or what our emotions are telling us. We praise you that you are our deliverer and our salvation. We praise you that you are what truly satisfies our lives.
