February 13, 2025 - Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭20b

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b NLT

Jesus, you said this to us, and it is such a wonderful and amazing fact. Yet, it can be so easy to forget. Help get this fact into the way that we think. When we are feeling lonely, even if there are other people around, help us to remember that you are with us. When we feel like no one truly sees us for who we really are, remind us that you know us completely. When we feel like no one understands us, remind us that you understand us better than we understand ourselves. You have seen every single moment of our lives. You understand the way the circumstances of our lives have molded us and formed our thought patterns. You have been there for every tear we have cried, every victory we have celebrated, every mountain we have struggled to climb, and all the moments of laughter and joy. There is not one thread in the tapestry of our lives that you didn’t witness.

 Help us remember that you are there longing to spend time with us in those seasons of life when we are surrounded with people and life seems full and busy. Help us to also remember in those seasons when we feel alone and depressed, that you are there waiting for us. You long to be our best friend. Help us see you as a real person in the room with us and not some mystical thing out in space somewhere. Teach us how to view you as a friend and how to invite you into every area of our time and lives. Come and let your presence fill all the lonely places of our lives. We praise you for how much you love us and long to walk in a deep relationship with us. We praise you that walking in a deep relationship with you will fulfill us and bring more joy into our lives than anything else ever will. What an honor it is to call you our friend.
