February 1, 2025 - 1 Timothy 6:11-12
“But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:11-12 ESV
Lord, make us men and women who live for you and flee anything not of you. We want to pursue you and the things of you. Give us a passion to live in your righteousness and Godliness. Grow our faith until trusting you for the impossible comes naturally. Help us to learn to love you and others with a pure, selfless, and unconditional love. Help us to be steadfast and persevere in our walk with you, no matter what comes our way. Teach us how to be gentle like you are. You are so gentle with us when we deserve wrath and punishment. Help us to be quick to offer gentleness, mercy, and forgiveness even when it is the last thing our flesh wants to do.
Teach us to be overcomers who fight the good fight of the faith. Let us run to you and your ways and put aside all the ways of our world. We praise you that you have called us to you and eternal life. We confess that you are our Lord! We bring our sins and shortcomings to you and praise you that you wash them away with your blood. What an incredible honor to be called your own. How wonderful we get to spend all eternity praising your Holy Name!
