December 5, 2023 - Psalms 34:4-5
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” Psalms 34:4-5 NIV
Lord, we thank you that you are a God who can be found by us. No matter how much of you we find there is always more to search out and discover. What an amazing, unending treasure you are. How marvelous! You told us to knock, and the door would be opened. If we seek, we will find. Thank you for wanting to be found. Help us to never give up on taking the time to search you out or lose the joy of discovering more of you.
Thank you for answering us when we come looking for you. Remind us of that in the seasons where we feel far away. In those seasons, give us the strength to overcome the feelings and lies that would tell us something other than this truth. When we feel like we just can’t hear your voice, help us quiet ourselves and the noise around us so we can focus on you. Show us if we have allowed anything to have a place in our lives that is keeping us from being able to hear you clearly.
Lord, we thank you that you have overcome our fears and shame. They no longer need to hold us back. You have defeated them and released us from their chains. Show us any places in our lives where we are choosing to hold on to them. Give us the strength to let them go and walk away free and clear. We want to look at you and then reflect your radiance. Purify us and polish us so that we can reflect you into the world. Make us a lighthouse on a hill. Let people be drawn to you through what they see in our lives.
In Jesus name, amen.
