December 31, 2022 - Deuteronomy 7:9
“Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.” Deuteronomy 7:9 NLT
Lord, we praise you for your unfailing love. As we look back over this year, regardless of what it held, we can see how you carried us through. We made it through because of your faithfulness. We praise you that you are the God over all. Nothing is impossible for you, and nothing is missed by you. You saw everything we faced this year. You have been by our side for each step. We praise you for always following through on your promises. You said you would never leave us or forsake us, and we stand on that truth! We praise you that even when we didn’t feel or see you that you were there. We praise you for how you have led our every step. (Take a moment to look back over the year and praise God for how he has led you through all you have faced.)
Lord, we thank you for the challenges that we have faced this year that have caused us to press more into you and grow stronger. (Take a moment to look back over the year and praise God for where you have seen growth in your life.)
We praise you for how you have loved us this year. We want to take a few minutes and just look back over some of the ways that we have seen your love poured out over us. (Take a few moments to look back over the year and praise God for how he loved you.)
Lord, we want to take a moment and ask forgiveness for all the times that we didn’t have patience to wait on you and we ran ahead in our own strength. Also, for the time when we chose not to walk in obedience to what you were asking for us and went off in our own ways. Please continue to help us grow in these areas and teach us how to better love you and obey your commands in this next year.
