December 30, 2024 - Psalms‬ ‭55‬:‭22

“Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” Psalms 55:22 NLT

Lord, we are on the verge of starting a new year and we want to start it fresh with you. We don’t want to take the things that have been weighing us down this year into the next one. Please help us surrender these things to you. Make it clear to us what the things are we need to deal with or let go of. If we need to forgive someone, help us to walk that out. If we need to make something right with someone, tell us how to do that and then open the door for it to happen. Give us the courage, humility, strength, or whatever it is that we need to walk in obedience to what you are asking. If we need your forgiveness for something, make it clear to us what that is, then help us bring it to you. Forgive it and help us change that behavior. If we need to walk away from some behavior, help us to do so and help us stick with it. If we need to give something away or give something up, help us have a generous heart that will joyfully give what you ask of us. If we need to surrender control to you and trust you with something dear to us, help us to do so. Lord, you are trustworthy and faithful. Even if you don’t do things the way we want, we can trust you to do what is best. We surrender our burdens to you and help us not to take them back.

Lord, we praise you that you want to take care of us. You are so loving and good. Often, if we don’t feel like you are caring for us it is because we are not allowing you to do so. We are choosing to carry our burdens and not surrender them to you. Help us choose to walk in obedience to what you ask. Forgive us and help us change this in the new year. We want to live for you. Help us live a godly life and keep us from slipping and falling. We praise you that with you this is possible.
