December 30, 2022 - 1 Peter 5:7

“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 TPT

Lord, we praise you for how you care for us. It is truly amazing. We don’t deserve anything, yet you care for us like we are your greatest treasure, because we are. Thank you. We praise you that we can bring anything to you. We don’t have to fear that you won’t listen, won’t understand, or won’t care. You understand our feelings, for we were created by you and in your image, and you have feelings too. Jesus, you lived here on earth as a human. You experienced loneliness, betrayal, anger, as well as joy and happiness. You can truly understand us and what we feel. You understand why we fear and worry. You gave us emotions so that we can process what is going on inside of us. Help us learn to do that with you.

Lord, we praise you for wanting us to come to you and share what we are feeling. You want us to process what we are feeling with you. You don’t want us to press down and hide our true feelings, pretending we are alright. You know the truth anyways. You can see what is really going on and the real reasons that we are feeling the way we are feeling. You understand the underlying things that cause us to worry instead of trust you. You want us to allow you to heal those underlying things so that we can fully trust you. You want us to live a life without worries, fears, or stress. You want us to learn to completely surrender those things to you believing that you will take care of them and get us through. Grow our trust to the point that we can trust you even when it doesn’t look like you are there and when you are not moving in the way or timing that we want you to. Even in those times we want to be so sure of who you are and the truth that you will never forget us. You are with us, and we can always trust in that fact.
