December 3, 2024 - Psalms 47:1-2, 5-7
“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth. God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.” Psalms 47:1-2, 5-7 NIV
Yes, Lord, we shout praises to your name. Let everyone from every nation declare your praises. From the far reaches of the earth let your praises rise. Let everything that has breath praise your holy name. Worthy are you, oh Lord. Let the musicians play a heavenly tune. Let the singers sing songs for your glory. Let the dancers’ movements express your greatness. Let each of us bring your worship with the talents and gifts you have given us. You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are the Most High. You are Sovereign. The Alpha and Omega. All goodness comes from you. You are perfect love. You are the most gracious and caring father. It is an honor to be called your children. Help us be children who live to honor you. Help us see you as both our Father who is closer than a friend and the Supreme and Almighty God.
We praise you with all that we are. We declare you before the world. Let our lives easily show you to the world around us. Help us to look more like you than the world around us. We want to stand out as different. We want to draw people to you. Let us live in a way that shows honor to you and shows others the beauty of who you are. Lord, we want to live in a way that we can be a part of bringing as many lost to you as possible, because you are worthy. We want to give you the reward for your suffering!
In Jesus name, amen.
