December 3, 2023 - Proverbs‬ ‭14:12

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 14:12 ESV

Jesus, we thank you that you are the Way. You have made a way for us to spend eternity with you. We thank you that you paid the price for our sins and washed us clean. We also thank you that you will lead and guide our every step if we allow you to do so. Open our ears, minds, eyes, and hearts to clearly decipher your voice from all the other noise around us.

Lord, we ask for you to specifically help us decipher your plans & desires from our own plans and desires. When we really want something or really think that our plan is the best option, it can be hard to hear what you are saying. Lord, we always want to put your guidance above our own desires and plans. Please keep us on your path. You said that your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path. Give us a desire to dig into it and find your leading.

Guard us from the path that leads to death or the path that takes us away from your best. We don’t want to “wander in the desert for 40 years” because we were not doing things your way. We want the best that you have for us. We always want to choose your plans and directions over our own. If something seems good or right to us, but it isn’t from you, close the door on it. Make it clear to us that it isn’t the right path. Give us the courage to always follow your plans even if it means taking the narrow, less traveled road, and setting off on our own. We thank you that we are never alone because you are always with us. We praise you for that. We praise you that you are our way, and you will make the path clear.

In Jesus name, amen.
