December 27, 2024 - Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭10‬-‭12

“Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.” Psalms 51:10-12 NLT

Lord, yes! Create in us a clean heart. Let this be the cry of our hearts. We want to go deeper in you. Forgive us if we have grown content in our relationship with you. We always want to hunger for more of you. We don’t want anything in our lives to push you out. Don’t banish us from your presence. Open our eyes to any sin in our lives. Point it out to us, and even if it is something that we might not even see as a sin, if it is, make it clear to us. Help us change thought patterns and actions to align with your ways. Change us. Purify us. Clean house within us. We invite you in and ask you to light up every corner. We tell you that nothing is off limits; do in us what you want.

Lord, teach us what it means to be loyal. Above all else we want to be loyal to you. Show us any area in our lives where we are not being 100% loyal to you. We want every area of our life to bring you honor. Holy Spirit, we desperately need your help. Without your help we will never overcome sin in our lives. Without you we will never really hunger to go deeper in our relationship with you. Without you we will not be able to make the sacrifices needed to gain all that you have for us. We need you to restore unto us the joy of our salvation. It is you that keeps our passion and love for you burning strong. Without you we don’t have the strength and courage to walk in obedience to all you ask of us. Holy Spirit, come and fill us more. Do your work in us. Walk beside us every second of every day. Oh, how we need you.
