December 27, 2021 - Job 26:7, 10, 12, 14
“God stretches the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing. He created the horizon when he separated the waters; he set the boundary between day and night. By his power the sea grew calm. By his skill he crushed the great sea monster. These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?”” Job 26:7, 10, 12, 14 NLT
Lord, it is true, no one can comprehend how powerful you are. You are the only true God. You are all powerful and nothing can begin to compare to you. At the sound of your voice, you created the whole universe and everything that exists in it. From the vastness of the stars to the minuteness of the atoms. You are so detailed. You are the one that keeps everything in line working as it was created. You are the glue that holds everything all together and causes it to work. We praise you for how superior you are.
We praise you that when you speak everything obeys. Nothing can defy you unless you allow it. And how amazing that someone so powerful and in charge of everything, does allow it. Your humility and love are such a beautiful thing. We praise you for how you love us so much that you allow us to choose to love and follow you. You allow us to choose things that come against you and cause you pain. You don’t lord over us, but you allow us to choose to surrender to your Lordship. It is such a beautiful thing and speaks even more of your power. You are so pure, that when we truly encounter it, how can we resist it? Thank you for how you love us so deeply and purely.
Lord, we want to return that love. We choose to surrender to your Lordship. We yield to your power. We lay our lives at your feet and tell you to have your way with us. Take us where you want us to be. Use us how you want to use us. We say that we trust you with all that we are. You are the Almighty God, and you deserve to have our lives and service. We will give you all that you deserve.
