December 26, 2021 - Joshua 1:6-7
““Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.” Joshua 1:6-7 NLT
Lord, we thank you for the promises that you have over each of our lives. You have given each of us a specific task to accomplish for you. Moses was given the task to lead God’s people out of slavery and into the promised land. We thank you that like Moses each of us have a “promised land” that you have called us to. You are with us and want to see us possess our “promised land”. We praise you that you are leading us and making a way. When the battles are too much for us, you fight for us. You are such an amazing God to us.
We ask that you increase our boldness and courage. Increase our strength so we can face and overcome all that we need to in order to possess our promised land. Challenge us as we need to be challenged so that we can grow strong in you. Lord, we know that we will grow more courageous the more we trust you, so teach us to trust you more.
Holy Spirit, guide us and help us to follow in your ways. We don’t want to turn to the right or the left. Help us learn how to not be distracted. When needed, place blinders on us like the horses wear to keep us from getting distracted. We want to follow closely after you. Give us a hatred for things not pleasing to you. Lord, we thank you for the promise that we will be successful if we follow after you. What a reward! It is a no risk situation as long as we follow your ways, we are guaranteed to succeed. We thank you that you stand on your word. If you said it, it will come to pass. We can step out into all you are calling us to and trust it will come to pass. Thank you for making following you such a rewarding experience.
