December 24, 2021 - Isaiah 9:6
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
Father, we are so very grateful for the gift that you gave to us by sending Jesus to earth. We praise you for the way that you love us. We praise you for how much you long to have a relationship with us. So much so, that you sent your only son to come and die to restore us back to you. We praise you for giving Jesus to us.
Jesus, we praise you today for being willing to leave your place in heaven to come to earth as a human. You laid down so much just to come here. We are so grateful. Then you didn’t come and live the life of a king but chose to live a humble life. You walked in our shoes. You experienced the pain, the rejection, the betrayals, the hardships, as well as the love and the joy of just living a “normal” life. Thank you for all you came to experience, so we never have to go through it alone or not understood. Then you sacrificed your sin-free life to die a sinner’s death to redeem us to what you created us to be. You are so amazing.
Jesus, we focus on you and how marvelous you are today. We rejoice in who you are and all you did for us. We thank you for the magnificent love that you have for us. We thank you that you are our Wonderful Counselor. You are always there to give us your wisdom and lead our every step. We praise you for being our Mighty God. Nothing can defeat you or even come close. Thank you for being the Everlasting Father. Thank you that you or your reign will never end. You exist outside of time. You have always been and always will be. Praise you for being our Prince of Peace. Thank you that you are the source of all of our peace. Even in the midst of the craziest storms in life, when we are focused on you, we are surrounded by your peace. Thank you for coming so that we have access to you and all these gifts and more. You are so remarkably wonderful to us. We praise your name forever!
