December 23, 2024 - John‬ ‭1‬:‭14

“So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” John 1:14 NLT

Oh, Jesus, we are constantly amazed that you chose to become human and make your home among us. You laid down your place in heaven. You had all authority. You were all knowing. You were all powerful. Heavenly beings were constantly singing your praises and bringing glory to your name. You could make anything happen at just your word. Yet, you chose to lay all of that plus more down to step into a limited human body and become like us. Not only did you choose to come, but you chose moment after moment to stay within those limitations through the struggles and pain of life in a fallen world. At any moment you could have said the word and been back in Heaven and done with us, but your love for us would not allow that. You are so amazing. We praise you for your love and all that you endured for us. We praise you for making your home among us. We praise you for choosing to live in separation from the relationship with the Father and the Spirit that you were used to. We praise you for enduring pain, rejection, torture, and so much more so that you could make a way for us to be restored to you. You didn’t give up on us but endured for us. Your unfailing love for us is more than we can comprehend. Your faithfulness to us is incredible.

Father, we praise you for how you displayed your glory to the world when you sent your only Son to earth for us. You also sacrificed so much in this. We are so grateful for your sacrifice. All glory be to your name. You are worthy. We want to live in a way that rewards you for the sacrifices that you made to show your love to us. We dedicate all our days to you. We give our all to bring you glory.
