December 18, 2024 - Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭28‬

“For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’” Acts 17:28 NLT

Lord, we praise you for how you have created us. Each one of us individually designed and made. No imperfections, but perfectly made. You made us in your image. Out of everything we read about you creating in Genesis, humans are the only thing that were created in your image. Not only did you design us and give us life, but you sustain us. It is through you and only through you that we have life. You are the source of all life. Nothing exists without you. Every breath that we take, every beat of our hearts, is because of you. We praise you for your life-giving presence in our lives. We praise you that whether you are acknowledged or not, you are a part of every living thing. How incredible that you don’t demand our surrender to you to receive life.

When we look at a child it will resemble its parents, because it is full of their DNA. We were made in your image and made to resemble you because we are also full of you. It is in the make-up of who we are to desire to know you because you are a part of who we are. We are your offspring. Our souls yearn to be reunited with you. Draw us closer to you, our Lord. Help us find the purpose for our existence in you. We acknowledge our desperate need for you. You give our life true value and meaning. You are so wonderful to us. Help us have a desire to lead others to your wonderful saving grace.
