December 1, 2021 - Acts 3:19
“And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s presence.” Acts 3:19 TPT
Lord, we do want to come before you with a repentant heart. Please forgive us for the sins that we have committed today. Open our eyes to see things that are sin if we didn’t realize they were. Remind us of things that we need to repent of if we have forgotten them. Work on our heart in areas that our pride is winning out and we are excusing sinful behavior or not admitting fault when we should. Help us live our lives from a humble place where we are always quick to repent. Help us be quick to acknowledge when we are in the wrong and even quicker at making the wrongs right. Let this be true not just between us and you, but us and other people.
Lord, we also ask that if it is a sin that we struggle with regularly that you would give us a strategy for overcoming that sin once and for all. We thank you that you have already defeated it and put the power within us to break it off our lives. It does not have to defeat us. If the problem is that on some level or another it is still desirable to us, show us how to break the root of the problem. Give us a hatred for the sin and a real desire to overcome it.
Lord, we do thank you for how refreshing it is to our soul to repent. Thank you that doing that cuts the hold that sin has on us, and it sets us free. It takes the weight of sin off our shoulders and allows us to feel liberated. It is through repentance that we are allowed to come into your presence. We want to sit with you and rest in your presence. We want to be refreshed by you. Help us remove anything that is holding us back from being fully in that place.
In Jesus name, amen.
