August 28, 2023 - Psalms 127:1-2
“If God’s grace doesn’t help the builders, they will labor in vain to build a house. If God’s mercy doesn’t protect the city, all the sentries will circle it in vain. It really is senseless to work so hard from early morning till late at night, toiling to make a living for fear of not having enough. God can provide for his devoted lovers even while they sleep!” Psalms 127:1-2 TPT
Lord, we pray that you would help us to never labor in vain. We want to build with you. We want all our efforts to be for your purposes. Help us invest our time, effort, talents, resources, and our lives building a legacy that glorifies you and will last for generations. Show us where to put our efforts to be the most effective, and then help us accomplish the tasks that you place before us.
Lord, we don’t want to live senseless lives. Open our eyes to any places in our lives where we are laboring in vain. Show us what matters in our lives and what doesn’t. Show us anything that we need to take our hands off of and walk away. We ask for you to show us if there are any areas in our lives where we are guarding things that you don’t want us guarding. Make it clear to us if we are to let go and walk away. Then give us the strength to do so.
We praise you, Jesus, that you are our provider. We thank you that if we trust in you, you will provide so much more for us than we could ever make on our own. We praise you that you have a purpose for each of our lives that will make an eternal difference. We thank you that we don’t have to labor in vain. We thank you that if we will yield and follow you, that you will lead our every step so that we are not living our lives in vain. We each commit to living out the life of purpose and destiny you have for each of us.
In Jesus name, amen.
