August 24, 2024 - Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬, ‭11‬-‭12

“How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says, “It is through obeying the law that a person has life.”” Galatians 3:3, 11-12 NLT

Lord, not only do we not have to become perfect on our own, but we can’t do it on our own. We praise you for wanting to walk with us every second of the day and help us overcome the sin that we so quickly fall into. If we keep our eyes on you and our hearts focused on you, pushing ourselves more towards your presence, we will be amazed at how the things we struggle with so much will suddenly not be as big an issue anymore. The more time we spend in your presence the less we will struggle. It is amazing how much keeping our eyes on you makes everything else come into a better perspective. When we keep focusing on overcoming our problems, it really is a battle that we struggle to overcome. Help us learn not to be foolish and try to win the battle with our sin on our own. You have given us your Spirit to help us. He wants to walk with us. He will help us keep our life focused on you and overcome. Holy Spirit, we invite you to come today and walk with us every second of the day. Remind us to keep Jesus in the center of who we are. Deepen our relationship and grow our faith.

In Jesus name, amen.
