August 23, 2024 - Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬

“Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.”” Galatians 2:16 NLT

Jesus, we praise you for dying and redeeming us. We can never repay you for making a way for us. We praise you that we don’t have to strive for perfection. We will never live a perfect life. No matter how hard we want to live a sinless life and how hard we try to choose what is right, we will mess up and fall short. We live in a fallen world, and we were born with a sinful nature. We would never be able to live out the requirements to walk with you. We can’t thank you enough for shedding your blood to pay our punishment and achieving the requirements for us. Not only does that allow us to walk with you for all eternity, but it sets us free from the bondage that the law puts on us. We praise you for your grace and forgiveness. Now we can achieve righteousness because your blood made it possible for you to clothe us in it. We run away from sin not because of the law, but because of our love for you. And we praise you for your grace and mercy that you freely extend to us when we do fall into sin. We praise you for how you clean us up and bring restoration. Lord, help us continue to grow strong in our ability to overcome our sinful desires. Help us to love and desire you more. Grow our faith in you and strengthen our relationship with you.

In Jesus name, amen.
