August 23, 2022 - Ephesians 6:13-14a
The Battle – Prayer #9
““Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then” Ephesians 6:13-14a NIV
Lord, you have gifted us with 6 pieces of armor. Six pieces that will help make us successful for the battles we face. They will keep us safe and allow us to be skillful warriors for your Kingdom. We now have the responsibility to learn how to put them on and use them effectively. You are here to teach us, but we must engage in and be active in training in their use. We want to do just that. We want to be able to successfully resist the enemy and stand our ground. We want to be ready, in our place, fully prepared, immovable, and victorious. We thank you that this is possible. You have given us the tools to make it possible. If Satan has sold us lies that tell us that we are just too weak or just not good enough, help us start declaring the truth over our lives. We can see throughout the Bible how you used the weak to accomplish great things. Teach us to use our armor to block those lies.
Lord, we want to be warriors who push back the forces of darkness and take ground back for you. We want to be full of your power and know how to use it effectively. We want to be used to advance your kingdom where you have us. Lord, we also realize that we will sometimes face those seasons where we are weary from the battle. Seasons where we are wounded and just can’t keep advancing. I love that it says, “after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then”. Lord, when we have done all that we can, we only need to stand our ground and trust you to do the rest. When we are out of strength, or injured, we can come and rest in your arms and you will heal and restore us. We praise you for the safety of your arms.
In Jesus name, amen.
