August 22, 2023 - 2 Chronicles‬ ‭20:15

“He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15 NLT

Lord, we praise you that you are our defender. You go before us and behind us. You surround us. You never sleep, so you are always on watch. You know our strengths and our weaknesses. You know the strengths and weaknesses of our foes as well. You also know the future. Oh, and let’s not forget that you are the almighty God who can’t be defeated. I think it is very safe to say that when we stand with you, we are on the winning side!

Let us learn to trust in that fact. We should be able to always walk in your peace regardless of what we face. We can read story after story in the Bible of ways that you overcame and defeated huge obstacles with people who should have never won. Thank you that we are not fighting on our own. We have the supernatural Almighty God fighting for us. We can rest in this reality.

We thank you that you see us and understand every situation we face. We choose to walk in faith with you. We choose to put our trust in you. We choose to not fear or get discouraged. We thank you, Lord, that the battle is not ours, but it is yours. We thank you that you are our defender. We can rest in the fact that we don’t have to defend ourselves. As a matter of fact, when we try to defend ourselves, we tend to make things worse. But not you.

We give all the battles we face over to you today. Help us to not take them back. We praise you for having it all under control. We praise you that the battles we face belong to you. We give them to you and keep none for ourselves!
