August 2, 2022 - Matthew 9:37-38
“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”” Matthew 9:37-38 ESV
Jesus, your heart and greatest longing is for the world to know you. So much so that you came to earth and gave your life so that we could be redeemed to you and restore our relationship to what you originally intended. We see this mission to restore humanity to yourself throughout the whole Bible. You have done so much for us, and you are so worthy. How can we not give our everything toward this purpose? We know that you have not called all of us to be missionaries serving in the far corners of the earth, but you have called us all to the Mission. We want to step up and play the part that you are calling us to.
Lord, we clearly see a part of what you are calling each of us to in this verse. We want to answer that call. We see your Spirit moving around the world today in truly amazing ways. Lord, we praise you for the doors you have opened. We thank you for the technology that you have put in place to make spreading your name easier than it has ever been before. We are closer than ever to seeing the Great Commission fulfilled. We praise you that this generation is in a place to see that happen in their lifetime if they will rise to the call. How amazing! But we must see more laborers if that is going to happen. You told us to earnestly pray for laborers. Lord, forgive us for any time we think that our prayers will not really make a difference. What a lie of the enemy. Things are released in the spiritual realm and our prayers release power to see change every time we pray. Please give each of us a burden to spend more time praying for the release of laborers. We want to pray in the largest harvest the world has ever seen. All for your glory, Jesus!
In Jesus name, amen.
