August 19, 2023 - Matthew‬ ‭6:11

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11 ASV

Jesus, we thank you that you have fresh “bread” for us each day. You don’t expect us to live off yesterday’s portion, but every day you want to give us what we need for that day. You are such an amazing and generous God. We ask forgiveness for the days that we don’t take the time to receive the fresh bread you have for us. When we wake up and rush into our day, we have no idea what lies ahead or what we need to face. You do, and you have already prepared for us exactly what we need. How much different would our lives look if we went into each day with everything we needed for that day? We ask forgiveness for our busyness and for assuming we can face it all on our own. Help us make coming and eating with you our 1st priority every morning.

Lord, we want to sit in your presence and receive our daily portion. We ask for the daily portion of the grace that we are going to need. We ask that you fill us with your joy for today. We ask for peace and patience for whatever life throws at us. We ask for the faith to overcome whatever we face and the perseverance to push through it. We ask for your wisdom for our every step. Give us your insight to see through your eyes. We ask for your kindness and gentleness to flow out of us. We also ask for the strength and boldness that we need to walk in obedience to you. Fill us with your love so we can love like you. Give us the self-control to overcome every temptation that comes our way. Everything that you have stored up for us today we are here with open arms to receive it.

Help us not to miss one day of the blessings that you prepared. You are such an awesome and generous Father. Thank you for the way you provide. We are so very grateful for how you care for us.
