August 16, 2022 - Ephesians 6:10-11
The Battle – Prayer #2
“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11 AMP
Lord, we thank you that you are the source of our strength. We can lean on you and draw from you at any time, for you are always there. Your power is unending and matchless. Nothing else can come close to comparing to you. We have no reason to fear the powers of the evil one if we are fighting on your team. Teach us how to effectively wear your armor and enter this battle ready to fight. Teach us how to fight.
Lord, there is a battle at hand and so many souls hang in the balance. We want to fight with all that we are to win as many souls as possible over to you. Don’t allow our passivity to miss this opportunity. Please don’t let us sit back in comfort while thousands are dying every day with the fate of spending eternity in hell because we didn’t answer the call and fight for them. Forgive us for unbelief. Forgive us for passivity. Forgive us for thinking it isn’t our responsibility or gifting. Forgive us for whatever other excuses we have used. Change us. Help us get our priorities lined up with what really matters for all eternity. Get us ready to fight for you.
I want to explore this for the next few days. Can you help us unpack how to prepare for battle? Open our minds and our hearts to what your word teaches us. Give us your understanding and let it sink in deep into who we are. Let it change any of our mindset that doesn’t line up with your truth. Get us into “spiritual shape” so that we are ready for the battle.
