August 12, 2024 - Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭10

“Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” Galatians 1:10 NLT

Lord, help us to be followers of you that live to please you only. Your approval is all that we should need in life. You are the only person who will never fail us. You are the only person that we can truly find our value in. Relying on others for our value will only leave us falling short and disappointed. When we live to please or impress people we are also living to receive their praise, and in turn to get glory for ourselves. Lord, we never want to steal glory for ourselves. We want all that we do to be for your glory. If you choose to honor us, help us to receive it in a humble manner. This comes against our sinful nature, both being humble and not living to please man. Lord, help us to change this nature within us. Help us to truly be deeply grounded in knowing who you say that we are. Help us truly get our value from you alone. Show us how you see us. Show us who you designed us to be. Help us to walk in the forgiveness that you offer us and not allow shame to beat us down. Teach us how to walk in the authority that comes with being a son or daughter of the King of Kings. Help us live every aspect of our lives to bring glory to your name. For you, our Lord, are worthy of all the glory.

In Jesus name, amen.
