August 11, 2023 - John‬ ‭8:14

“Jesus responded, “Just because I am the one making these claims doesn’t mean they’re invalid. For I absolutely know who I am, where I’ve come from, and where I’m going. But you Pharisees have no idea about what I’m saying.” John 8:14 TPT

Jesus, I love this statement, “For I absolutely know who I am, where I’ve come from, and where I’m going.” How wonderful in so many ways. I thank you that I am following someone who is sure of himself and where we are going. How reassuring. We can fully trust you.

Help this to be a true statement in each of our lives. Grow us in our knowledge of who we are in you. Take us deeper and deeper in that knowledge. Let us walk in the confidence that comes in this deep knowledge. Help us to also have a confidence in where we are coming from and where we are going. Even if all we know is that we are following Jesus, let us have a confidence and trust in walking that out. Thank you for where you have brought us from. Help us to look back over all the “where we have come from” in our lives and see the lessons you need us to learn. Don’t let any seasons be wasted because we didn’t learn what we were meant to learn.

Lord, we also ask for you to open our minds to understand what you are saying. Get our hearts in the right place to receive what you are saying even if it is hard. We never want to be like the Pharisees and miss what you are saying because we are so caught up in our ways of thinking. If there are any areas of our lives where that is the case, point them out, forgive us, and help us change.

Thank you, Lord, that you want our identity to be secure in you. Thank you that you want to give us your revelation knowledge. We want that as well. We thank you for the growth that we are seeing in these areas.
