“He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread...” Proverbs 12:11a NKJV
Lord, I love the principles of your kingdom. Such as, if you sow, you will reap. Or as it says in this verse, he who tills his land will be satisfied with bread. Lord, we thank you that your promises are true. We can stand on this word. But, Lord, it goes both ways, if we don’t till our land, we won’t have bread. Today, we want to pray this principle into our relationship with you. We want to till the ground of our relationship. We want to put in the needed work. We commit to preparing the ground of our heart. We will uproot the rocks and anything that will get in the way of you growing there. We commit to reading your word and planting your seeds in our hearts. We will water those seeds with your presence. We will pull the weeds (lies) that try to choke out what you have planted. We will guard the small blooms and blossoms to ensure they can continue to grow up strong and take root. We will invest in this “garden” and endure until the time of the harvest.
Lord, we understand that “planting a garden” isn’t an overnight event. It takes time and labor. There is a lot of waiting and wondering if what we are doing is going to produce. It takes faith that our work is going to result in a harvest. But again, we can stand on your promise that those who sow will reap. Lord, help us not get bored or tired as we sow into our relationship with you, not always seeing the immediate “harvest”. Help us keep pressing into you and your Word. Help us know that every moment we invest sowing into our relationship with you will produce an eternal harvest. Help us not to quit when we don’t see the fruit. Help us not to buy into the lie that it is a waste of time. Help us keep pressing in. The harvest of you is so worth the work we need to invest into the “garden” of our relationship!
In Jesus name, amen.
