“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:10-11 ESV

Jesus, you found such joy in walking in obedience to the Father’s wishes. It wasn’t an obligation to you, but a joy. You even found joy in all you had to endure through your death on the cross because it brought joy to the Father and allows us to be restored into perfect relationship with you. You love the Father and want to walk in unity with him. Help us learn to love you more so that our every choice is based on walking in unity with you and bringing joy to you. Let our love grow to the point that it is our pure joy to walk in obedience to all you ask, not just in action, but in our heart motives as well. We want to learn what it means to fully abide in your love.

Jesus, this verse says that you will share your joy with us. Yes! We want to learn to live in your pure joy. Let it overflow out of us onto everyone around us. We want to be marked and known by the joy that we carry.

In Jesus name, amen.
