April 8, 2024 - Micah 7:18

“Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.” Micah 7:18 NLT

Oh Lord, how wonderful is this verse. Your unfailing love is more than we can comprehend. We praise you that you delight in showing us your unfailing love. We don’t deserve it. We fail so much. You have given us laws to follow and yet we are constantly breaking those laws. We fall short all the time. We know that it breaks your heart when we choose sin over pleasing you, yet we still choose sin. We know you desire to be our number one priority in life, and yet we constantly choose to place other things above you. You love us unconditionally and long for us to love you in return. We don’t always love you very well. We can so easily get wrapped up in other things and go days without really spending quality time with you. We move forward with our lives, making big and little decisions each day without once asking what you want for us. There are so many other ways that we fail you, yet you are always there loving us and forgiving us again and again. God, you are truly amazing to us.

We praise you for how you love us. We praise you for your forgiveness. Lord, help us to change. Help us to prioritize you in our lives. Help us learn to love you the way you love us. Make it our delight to live to bring you delight in all that we do. Holy Spirit, we invite you to come and stay near to us. Help us not to push you away or silence you when you are encouraging us to say no and walk away from something we want. When you are calling us to spend time in your presence, help us to always answer yes, even if it means sacrificing something we wanted. Help us to always listen to and draw near to you. Grow our love for you every day.
