“But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. When that day comes,” says the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’” Hosea 2:14-16 NLT
Lord, what a beautiful passage written about Israel. You are calling them back to you after they have rebelled and walked away from you again. They don’t deserve you to treat them like this, but you are so loving and faithful, even when we are not faithful. It is so hard to comprehend how great your love is. We praise you for your love, forgiveness, and your faithfulness to us. We praise you for calling us to come away with you so that you can speak tenderly to us. Help us learn to take the time to stop and listen for your still small voice. Silence the lies that tell us you won’t speak to us, or you don’t have tender, loving words for us. Those would be lies, and we refuse to believe them. We praise you for returning what the enemy has stolen from us. We praise you for being our hope. It doesn’t matter what we are facing, with you there is always hope. Hallelujah. Stir our love for you and keep us living from a place of first love with you. We want to see you as our wonderful, loving husband. Let us value our relationship with you more than any other. Show us how to include you in all we do each day. Take us deeper and allow us to know you intimately. How wonderful that this is your desire. Draw us in, our husband.
In Jesus name, amen.
