April 29, 2022 - Colossians 2:6-7
“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 NLT
Lord, we thank you so much for your saving grace in our lives. It is such an honor to give our lives over to you and accept your free gift of salvation. We welcome your lordship into our lives. We want to commit to all that entails. We surrender our lives to you and ask that you help us grow in your ways. We want to see our roots grow deep in you. When the storms of life come and blow hard on us, we want to be firmly anchored so that we cannot be uprooted. When the droughts of life come, we don’t want our roots to be just at the surface, so we dry up and wither easily. Teach us how to press into you. We want your word to enter into all that we are and cause us to go deep in you. Help us to deepen our relationship with you to a very intimate level. We want to know your voice and your ways.
Lord, we want to build every area of our lives on the firm foundation of you. Show us any place where we have anchored into sand or shifting ground. Help us uproot any lies that we have bought into. Help us replace those with your truth. We don’t want anything in our lives that would allow us to come tumbling down if life shifts or shakes. Regardless of how much our world shakes around us, we want our foundation to stand strong in you.
Lord, we do thank you that if we are deeply rooted and standing on your foundation, we can’t be easily destroyed no matter what the enemy throws our way. You are so faithful to us. Praise you for being such an amazing Father!
