April 26, 2025 - Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭9

“You [Jesus] love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.” Hebrews 1:9 NLT

Jesus, make us more like you. Give us a greater understanding of how much you love us and want to see us walking in freedom. Open our hearts to more of your love. As we experience more of your love, let our love for you grow. As it grows, help us to love what you love and hate what you hate. We don’t want to tolerate sin in our lives, making excuses for it. Jesus, you hate sin and so we want to hate it as well. If we really love you, we will want to do what makes you happy and avoid the things you hate. You paid such a high cost to set us free from sin and evil. We never want to waste the freedom you paid so much for by choosing sin over freedom.

Father, we ask that as our love grows and our hatred of evil that you would pour more of your anointing over us. Pour over us the oil of joy. Let us find your pure joy in loving you and your ways. Let us find pure joy in turning away from sin and evil. We get so much more from loving you than we get from anything else. You are so much better that anything this world has to offer. You are truly an awesome God.
