April 26, 2024 - John 12:26
“Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.” John 12:26 NLT
Jesus, we want to be your servants and follow you wherever you go. When we read this verse, it totally makes sense that in order to follow you we must be where you are. I know in our hearts that is truly our desire. But would you show us if we are really walking this out? Are we really following after you? Are we willing to walk away from the things that pull us away from your presence? Your heart is so for the lost and the hurting yet is that really a priority for each of us? How much of our time, resources, and effort are spent investing into that? Or do we pour ourselves into making ourselves comfortable? Do we take the time to ask what you want for us each day and then rearrange our day to line up with your plans? Do we want to follow you when it is uncomfortable, when it costs us, when it requires us to walk against popular opinions? Lord, we know that you are worth anything we must sacrifice. Help us get that fact out of our heads and turn it into a lifestyle that we live. Make us servants who will do whatever it requires to follow you and be where you are.
Father, we want our lives to be something that you look at and are pleased. We want you to see people who put you and your desires above our own. We want to be people who you long to honor. Grow us and help us learn to live like that. Show us the places in our lives that we need to change and then help us be willing to allow you to change us. Make us more like you. We want to fully live our lives for you and for your glory. We want to take you to the lost and the hurting. We want to live our lives to see your dreams fulfilled. We want to be true servants who live to please their Master. You are worthy.
