April 24, 2022 - Colossians 4:5-6
“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6 NLT
Lord, we make this our prayer today. We ask that you help us live wisely each day. Teach us your ways. Motivate us to get your Word buried deep in our hearts, so we naturally live it out. Show us any place in our lives that we need to focus on making more Christ like. We want to be an example of you to the people we interact with each day. We know that our behavior doesn’t always match yours, Jesus. Transform us to be more like you. Purify us and help us recognize and get rid of behaviors that do not represent you well. Teach us how to be humble when our pride wants to rise up. Teach us how to be kind when we want to be mean. Teach us how to forgive when it’s the last thing we feel like doing. Teach us how to allow you to be our defender when we just want to fight back. Teach us how to love when it isn’t deserved. Teach us to have more patience and long suffering when we are running very low on those things. Fill us with your joy so that it overflows out of us, even when the circumstances around us don’t warrant joyfulness. Let our lives bubble over with all the fruits of the spirit and help us remove any fruit that is not of you. Help the fruit of our lives make us stand out as different from the non-believers.
We also ask that you open our eyes and our spirits to see opportunities to share your love with those around us, both strangers and those we know. Help us be the light that attracts those living in darkness. Holy Spirit, give us courage to obey you and wisdom on what to share. Help us have just the right response for everyone we interact with. Let your name be glorified in all that we do and help us lead the lost to you.
