April 21, 2024 - Psalms 62:8
“O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” Psalms 62:8 NLT
Lord, we want to trust you at all times. We praise you because you are trustworthy. You are always faithful. We can count on you and know that you will never fail us. Anytime we are facing any doubt in these facts, please remind us of how faithful you have been to us. We see your faithfulness and loving kindness all around us. We praise you for how our world and bodies were created to work together in such amazing, intricate ways. It is you who holds it all together. We see your faithfulness every time a newborn baby takes its first breath of air. That small creation was put together by you. We don’t have to look too hard around us to hear about impossible situations that were miraculously changed by you. We can see your faithful hand working all throughout all of history. We read story after story in the Bible of how you faithfully love and care for us. We can make lists of the ways we have seen your faithfulness in our own lives. We praise you for how you take care of us.
Lord, when we do face those challenges that could easily make us want to doubt your goodness, help us remember your faithfulness to us. Help us run towards you instead of away from you. We want to hide under your wings and feel your heartbeat. Help us pour out our hearts and confess any doubts we have to you. Make your truth clear and silence any lies the enemy wants to tell us. We want you to always be our refuge no matter what we are facing. Ground us deeply in you and your ways. Remind us to notice and lock away in our memories all the ways you have been faithful to us individually so that when it feels hard to believe we can cling to the truth and push away the lies. For you are truly trustworthy. You are our faithful refuge always and forevermore.
