April 17, 2022 - Revelation 1:17-18

“When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.” Revelation 1:17-18 NLT

Jesus, we praise you that you are a God who is powerful enough to conquer death and the grave. You overcame our sin. The devil thought that he won the battle when you were laid in the grave, but little did know what was heading his way. We praise you that his power is nothing compared to yours. He could not hold you down or stop your plan. You defeated him. You took back the keys to death and the grave. You overcame the power of sin and bought our forgiveness and freedom. Satan no longer has the power to hold us in bondage. We have been set free from the chains of sin. We praise you that you are all powerful and nothing can hold you back.

Jesus, what a marvelous gift you have given us through the sacrifice of your life. We praise you today for that gift. We lift your name up high and give you the honor you deserve. We sing praise to you. We are beyond grateful for the freedom that you bought for us. We can’t begin to thank you enough for the price you paid for our forgiveness. Your love for us is more than we will ever understand here on earth. Thank you so much for being such an amazing illustration of pure love to us. We want to learn to love you the way you love us. We lay our lives at your feet and say have your way. We want all of our lives to glorify you. We want to walk in all of the freedoms that you bought for us. We don’t want to choose to live in bondage when you paid such a price for our freedom. Show us the areas in our lives where we are doing that. Teach us how to let go of the bondage and receive the freedom that is ours. You deserve that, our Lord.
