“Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!” Matthew 12:50 NLT
Lord, we want to be people who walk in your will all the days of our lives. We ask for you to lead us in this. Search our hearts and purify us. Uproot anything that doesn’t bring you glory. Make clear any place that we are not walking in your will. Show us how to fix that and align our lives to your ways. Even if it is difficult and it costs us, help us choose your will over our own. Show us any place that we have justified our will and convinced ourselves it was your will when it wasn’t. If realigning our lives to your will, will cause others pain, show us how to do it in the most loving way. Let us see your hand working in those situations to open the door for us to get free of anything we need to be freed of to do what you are calling us to do.
What a privilege to be claimed as your own and called your brother or sister. Being a sibling means that we have your blood running through our veins. It means that we are a part of you. And we are not people that you are stuck with as a brother or a sister. No, you chose us to be your brother or sister because you wanted us. We were not picked last. You don’t see what we currently are; you see who you’ve created us to be. You see all our potential. You see past our mistakes, past the injustices that have been done to us, you see past all our issues and shortcomings to all that you long for us to be. Not only do you see that, but you know the path that will help us begin to walk in the reality of that. The way you love us is so remarkable and unbelievable. Thank you.
Lord, we also praise you for the right and privileges that come with being a relative of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Teach us what those things are. Show us how to walk in all that you have for us.
In Jesus name, amen.
