April 15, 2022 - Romans 5:6-10

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” Romans 5:6-10 NIV

Jesus, we are so incredibly grateful for the sacrifice that you made for us on this day. We want to make sure to take a few moments today to reflect on that sacrifice and what it means for us. All that you laid down to come to earth. I can’t even fathom the depths of the love that would motivate you to do what you did. A pure and perfect love. You fully put us above yourself. What a beautiful illustration of love. We thank you so much that it was something that you freely chose to do for us in the powerless, messed up, sinful state we were in. It doesn’t matter what we have done or haven’t done. We praise you that there is nothing too big for your love to reach. We praise you that you died for each and every one of us. You love each and every one of us.

We praise you for the blood that you freely shed for us. You paid the ransom for our sin. Your blood washed them away. You have made us pure. You reconciled us back to the Father. We have been restored. You have chosen us and called us your son or daughter. Thank you so much for your perfect love for us. Thank you for laying down your life. Today we honor you for all you sacrificed for us. You are so worthy of all our praises for all eternity. We lay our lives before you and say that we are yours.

In Jesus name, amen.
