April 14, 2023 - Galatians 4:6-7
“And so that we would know that we are his true children, God released the Spirit of Sonship into our hearts—moving us to cry out intimately, “My Father! My true Father!” Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has —for we are heirs because of what God has done!” Galatians 4:6-7 TPT
Lord, it is difficult to express how grateful we are that you have adopted us. You truly treat each one of us as chosen, cherished, beloved children. It is hard to believe this sometimes. I mean you are the God of the universe, why would you call us, as broken and messed up as we are, your own? It’s incomprehensible, but you do.
Lord, help silence the lies that would tell us otherwise. Open our eyes to places we are not believing this truth and living like an orphan. We don’t want to live under an orphan bondage. You have set us free from that and don’t want us limited by that. Jesus, you gave your life so that we could be free from living like an orphan. It isn’t loving for us to not accept the gift you offer us. You died so that we could have that gift. Help us honor that action by fully living in freedom and accepting the love that comes with the gift you give us.
Show us any places in our lives where we are living like orphans. As we surrender them to you, please uproot them. Help us change our mentality in those areas replacing them with your truth.
Lord, we thank you for the love and freedom that comes with living like a true child of God. We thank you for the power and authority we can have and walk in. We thank you for the confidence that comes with knowing we are truly loved by you. Take us deeper into understanding what this really means.
In Jesus name, amen.
