April 14, 2022 - Isaiah 25:4-5

“But you are a tower of refuge to the poor, O LORD, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall, or like the relentless heat of the desert. But you silence the roar of foreign nations. As the shade of a cloud cools relentless heat, so the boastful songs of ruthless people are stilled.” Isaiah 25:4-5 NLT

We praise you, Lord, that you are our tower of refuge. We can run to you and find our safety. No matter what is coming against us, it cannot overpower you, our refuge. We can rest in knowing that we are safe in your hands. Lord, we ask that you help us in this mission of learning to rest in you. Help us learn to surrender our worry to you. It is so easy to know in our heads that we can fully trust you, but not fully believe it in our hearts and actions. We can get so caught up in spending so much time trying to sort out how we will solve our problems, instead of using that time to pray. Spending time in prayer is when we see your peace wash over us and take away the worry. Help us learn to trust you more and more.

Lord, we thank you that even with all the craziness going on in our world today, you are still in charge, and you are a safe place. When things seem so uncertain for so many, we thank you that you are our certainty. The importance of making your name known is such an important task right now. So many people are desperate for your safety and peace, and they don’t even know what they are searching for is you. Help us know how to lead them to you and your refuge. Give us wisdom on how to disciple others in turning their worries over to you and living in your peace. Lord, we don’t want to do this in words only, but we want our lives to be an example of this as well. All for your glory!

In Jesus name, amen.
