April 11, 2024 - Psalms 107:8-9
“Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Psalms 107:8-9 NLT
Lord, we praise you for your great works. You are an amazing God. We praise you for how you know and love us. You know the number of hairs on our head. You see our every concern. You catch our every tear. Your thoughts for us are greater than the number of pieces of sand on the seashore. There is no one who will ever know us better than you. Lord, we praise you that even knowing every detail about us and seeing all our shortcomings, you choose to love us. You love us perfectly and completely. We praise you. Thank you for your astounding love. We praise you for all the different ways that you show us that love every day. We praise you for the beauty that you created for us to enjoy. We praise you for all the realms of colors that we get to see each day. We praise you for the creative and stunning sunrises and sunsets that you paint for us daily. We thank you for the diversity of creation that you have given us to enjoy. You didn’t just give us a couple different types of birds or flowers, but you gave us thousands of types to discover and enjoy. Your love is so amazing. Thank you.
Lord, we also praise you for how you satisfy us. When we hunger after and search for you, you will be found by us. You are not a distant God who hides from us. No, you are right here with us. It is our lack of faith and our sin that separates us, so we don’t feel your presence. Please show us anything in our lives that is doing that. Increase our hunger and thirst for you. Teach us how to draw near to you even in the hard seasons, when we don’t feel you as close. We praise you that even in those seasons you are still filling us with good things! Open our eyes to see it all around us.
