April 10, 2024 - Psalms 8:3-9
“When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority—the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents. Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!” Psalms 8:3-9 NLT
Lord, what an honor it is to be loved and cherished by you. You are the creator of everything. There is so much beauty all around us. And there is so much diversity in that beauty. From the beauty in the things so small our eyes can’t even see, to the grandness of the galaxies, it was all created by you to show your splendor, creativity, and wisdom. There is no other god that can come close to comparing to your greatness.
And to think that you created us in your image is just remarkable. You made us a little lower than you. You crowned us with glory and honor. Forgive us for not living up to who you made us to be. Uproot the lies in us that tell us anything different than the truth written in this verse. The world, our circumstances, and the decisions we made, might have made a mess of our lives, but we praise you that you are the Great I AM. Regardless of the mess of our lives, you can redeem us. We are your loved and cherished children. You have given us charge over everything you have made. Jesus, by your death, you have destroyed the hold Satan had over us because of our sin. When we accepted you, you restored us fully. Help us to begin to walk in that truth and stand in the authority you created us to have. Let our lives bring the glory to your name that you deserve!
In Jesus name, amen.
